Multi-instrumentalist and composer, Emmet O’Connor, graduated from TU Dublin with an Honours degree in Music Composition and piano. Since then he has worked as a teacher, solo pianist, piano accompanist, orchestrator, choral and orchestral conductor, and has produced numerous albums and EPs in collaboration with other artists and under his own name. Emmet’s biggest achievement is conducting the premiere of Ruth Smith & Daire MacMaghnuis’ Song Cycle Elemental Dance in Galway in January 2020. Well-versed in jazz piano, Emmet is impressively versatile and a fantastic at adding to a real New Orleans feel at Plaquemine Lock.
