At Plaquemine Lock, that means a table full of Louisiana food, bottles opening, crackers going off, live music rolling through the pub and, with any luck, the evening getting a little less sensible as it goes on.
We’re bringing our own kind of Christmas to the Regent’s Canal this year: Creole cooking, Southern hospitality, good drinks and the sort of atmosphere that feels rather more New Orleans than North London.

The Festive Feast
From 15 October until Christmas, our Festive Feast brings Christmas dinner through Louisiana.
Start with freshly baked cornbread, then choose blackened chicken livers with red pepper jelly, shrimp ’n grits with bacon and gravy, or an artichoke hand pie with green goddess dressing.
For the main event, there’s roast turkey breast with cornbread stuffing, cranberry and jus; pecan-crusted halibut with mashed potato and caper salad; or pumpkin and blue cheese omelette.
The table gets Brabant potatoes, dirty rice, collard greens and broccoli amandine, before everyone finishes together with pecan pie, Bananas Foster and mini beignets with chicory coffee caramel.
Add oysters if you want to begin properly, or add a gumbo or salad course if three courses somehow doesn’t seem enough.

Thanksgiving at Plaquemine Lock
In the 250th year of the United States, we’ll be raising a glass to our American friends, partners and allies with a night of Louisiana cooking, live music and the kind of generous, noisy hospitality Thanksgiving deserves.
Our Thanksgiving menu is the same Festive Feast served through the Christmas season, but the occasion is very much its own. Expect the flavours and traditions that sit at the heart of Louisiana cooking, where Creole and Cajun influences meet French, Spanish, African, Caribbean and Southern American traditions around the table.
We’ll have a band playing, the food will be coming thick and fast, and the pub should feel a little closer to New Orleans for the night.
Whether you’re American, celebrating with Americans, or simply think Thanksgiving is an excellent excuse for a feast, come and join us.

Some Christmas dinners need more than six chairs.
For bigger groups, office Christmas parties and celebrations, Plaquemine Lock has spaces for everything from drinks and standing food to long dinners and full private hire of the pub.
There can be oysters, cocktails, Creole feasts and live music. For full private hire, you can make the place entirely your own.
You bring the people. We’ll handle the party.

When is the Christmas menu available?
Our Festive Feast is available from 15 October until Christmas, during normal restaurant opening hours.
How much is the Christmas set menu?
The Festive Feast is £55 per person.
What is included?

Can I book the Christmas menu for two people?
Yes. The Festive Feast is available for tables of two or more.
How do I book?

Can I order à la carte instead?
For bookings of six people or fewer, the seasonal à la carte menu remains available. If you want the Festive Feast, select it when booking.
Do you have a vegan Christmas menu?
Please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate them, but our kitchen handles a number of allergens.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
We cannot generally provide a fully vegan version of the Festive Feast. Please contact us before booking if you have specific dietary requirements.
